Shubha Mudgal has published albums of classical, devotional, folk and pop music, with the last bringing her celebrity status. She has composed music for dance, cinema and even special occasions like the British Museum’s inauguration of the ‘Padshanama’ exhibition. Her greatest asset is her voice, which an eminent critic has described as having “range, depth, striking resonance and a ‘knowing’ quality that says more than she sings.” A committed artist, she has lent her voice time and again to the secular cause. Her charity performance at the ‘Music for Harmony’ concert in Mumbai, was part of this commitment.
