by Salima Hashmi

Trained at the Department of Miniature Painting at the National College of
Arts (NCA) in Lahore, Pakistan, Talha Rathore did her Masters at the Pratt Institute, US, in 1998 where she now lives and works. Preparing for a solo show at the Bose Pascia Gallery in February 2003, Talha takes time off to discuss her trajectory with Salima Hashmi, ex-dean of the NCA, relocating her work with wasli, the handcrafted surface of the traditional South-Asian Moghul and post-Moghul miniature.
