The Life of Gautama Buddha is a production of Theatre
World, a perormance group, committed to developing original productions
with a social relevance. The script is based on historical facts,
philosophy, myths and legends. The play evolved through the workshop
technique and finally emerged as a rich tapestry combining acting,
dance (both modern and traditional), music and shadow puppetry.
Performed in Bodhgaya, Kolkata, Singapore and six US cities, it
has received a Certificate of Special Recognition from the Houston
City Council. Performances are planned for 2003 in the UK, Sri Lanka
