‘The Life of Gautama Buddha’ is a production of Theatre World, a perormance group, committed to developing original productions with a social relevance. The script is based on historical facts, philosophy, myths and legends. The play evolved through the workshop technique and finally emerged as a rich tapestry combining acting, dance (both modern and traditional), music and shadow puppetry. Performed in Bodhgaya, Kolkata, Singapore and six US cities, it has received a Certificate of Special Recognition from the Houston City Council. Performances are planned for 2003 in the UK, Sri Lanka and India.
