South Asians in multicultural Britain

The South asian experience in Britain today consists of a slew of contradictions. While it is assertively, vibrantly multicultural, to go by gurinder chaddha's pulsating movies that capture the ambience or the ubiquity of the curry – there's the other side. Multiculturalism has taken many South Asians in a sweeping embrace but left many out in the cold, writes Parvathi Raman, a lecturer in Social Anthropology.
