In the last thirty years that Asian theatre has been around in Britain , it has gone from its nostalgic preoccupations with folk themes to becoming a national presence on London's West End , holding a critical mirror up to society and looking disquieting themes in the eye. Jatinder Verma, one of the co-founders of Tara Arts, looks back at some of the productions that mark the coming of age of Asian theatre, transforming it into one of the most articulate ethnic voices in the country.
