“As an artist in residence at the Ecole des Beaux Art at Caen, I relived the history of European art, the Renaissance period and the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael. They were my companions as I walked through the streets of Mont Martre and stopped at the cafes by the river Seine. They travelled with the scent of the blowing West wind and the color of leaves in the evening light. All these made a profound impression on me as they took shape in the form of this book, commissioned by Director Jean Jaques Passera of the Art Institute. The lyricism of those enhanced days claimed space in my work and linger still, in my mind.”
