Today’s art is borderless: this month it might be in Hong Kong, next week in Liverpool, and many times, the artist will be aware of this prior to the work’s execution and even before the moment of conceptualisation. Since works created under any circumstances will naturally bear the genetic stamp of their creator’s creative gene pool, it is only natural that works made by an artist who is part of the international circuit will often refer to its own self, especially through its content, medium and concept.
