THE WINGS OF MUSIC
By Rãm Krishna Dãs

Music, like air, has flown through continents since before the birth of continents. Amongst several theories, the 3400-year-old “Hurrian Hymn no.6” is considered the oldest acknowledged testament of written music. Preserved on a clay tablet, written in the ancient Hurrian language, it was discovered in Ugarit, Syria, as recently as the early 1950s. Rãm Krishna Dãs, a Hindustani classical music vocalist and independent researcher traces the migration of music through time and geographies.
