Pakistani cinema is little-known of in India, nor has it ever had
any significant representation at the international film festivals.
However, A glimpse of its billboards suggests the nature of its
viewership. Interestingly, all billboards are dismantled in the
holy month of Ramazan, to prevent unholy fantasising...Indian bollywood
films continue to command an unflagging viewership on video as they
cannot be shown in public theatres.
State-owned television is still a preferred mediumthe ubiquitous
soap opera having its loyal audience in Pakistan and India.The occasional
creative socio-political documentary is made but cinema as an art
form has yet to take off.
