Alokananda Roy

Alokananda Roy, a celebrated dancer, has a very special place in the evolving heritage of Rabindranath Tagore. She has performed extensively in India, UK, Europe, USA, Japan, Singapore and elsewhere, and has received several prestigious awards. Despite a demanding calendar, Roy has been a deeply involved activist in changing the lives of street children and prison inmates in Kolkata by introducing new dimensions in their lives through the magic of dance.
