Andrzej Seweryn [b. 1946] is one of Poland’s most skilled and endearing actors. A meeting and conversation with him filled the room with a sublime hum. Charismatic and engaging, he shared stories of his thespian journey through over 50 films, mostly in Poland, France and Germany, which included Peter Brook’s ‘Mahabharata’, Andrzej Wajda’s ‘Danton’ and Stephen Spielberg’s ‘Schindler’s List’. Amongst several other awards won for his thespian skills, is the 1980, Silver Bear for his role in ‘Dyrygent’ [The Orchestra Conductor] at the Berlin International Film Festival,1980 and the Légion d’ honneur for his contribution to French culture in 2005. He is currently Director General of the Polski Theatre in Warsaw.
